1.  The story “A Letter to
God” reflects Lencho as a person of innocence and God. Discuss.

Ans.  The story “A Letter to God” by G.L.Fuentes
reflects Lencho as a person of innocence and God. Lencho was a farmer who was worked very hard. Once, his crops got ruined due to hailstorm and he was so
upset that he decided to write a letter to God. He didn’t lose hope in God. He
wrote that if God would not help him he and his family would die of hunger. Her
requested God to provide him hundred pesos so that he could sow again. He went
to the post-office and mentioned the address as ‘To God’. This shows his
innocent nature. He even went to the post-office the following Sunday and was
confident enough that God would send him the money. Such was his faith towards
God. When he found the money to be less, he felt that the employees might have
stolen them and again wrote him a letter and informed not to send the letter
through the mail. This proves his innocent nature.

2.  How wishes of Lencho got
fulfilled by God?

Ans.  In the story “A Letter to God” by G.L.Fuentes,
Lencho’s crops got damaged due to hailstorm. In that situation, Lencho wrote a
letter to God and asked him for a hundred pesos. This shows his strong belief towards
God. The postman was moved by the strong faith of Lencho and he thought not to
break his firm belief. So he decided to help him with the money. He himself
provided a part of his salary and even asked the other employees to help him
with the money, and obliged his friends to provide something as ‘an act of charity’. Even after all this, he couldn’t arrange those hundred pesos. He was

3.
The lesson “A Letter to God” reflects a rare piece of character
in the form of Lencho in this form of society. Discuss.

Ans. The story “A
Letter to God” by G.L.Fuentes reflects a rare piece of character in the form of
Lencho in this form of society. Lencho was a farmer who lived in a valley where
he grows corn in his field. He was waiting for a downpour which would help him
with a good harvest. But his dream turned into a nightmare when hailstorm arrived
and his field got ruined. He was too upset but didn’t lose hope. He had full
faith in God and decided to write a letter to him and requested him to provide
money. He even posted the letter and was confident that God would send him.
When he got the money, which was actually sent by the postman, and found that
the money was less than required, he again wrote a letter to God and blamed the
employees of the post-office to have stolen the rest of the money. Moreover, he
requested not to send the money through the mail. Thus, Lencho is indeed a rare
piece of character in society.

4.   How does the story “A Letter to God” reflect
didactic lessons of life?

Ans. The story “A
Letter to God” by G.L.Fuentes reflects didactic lessons of life. When Lencho was
in trouble and was in a need of money and wrote a letter to God. This shows his
faith towards God and believed that God would help in his hard times. The
postman got to see the letter and was moved by the strong faith of the farmer.
He wanted to help him but it was tough for him to arrange those hundred pesos.
He asked his employees, friends and even provided a part from his salary. Still, he was not able to arrange the total amount, though he thought that this would
help the farmer in his need.

This teaches us
selfless kindness. When Lencho received the letter and found that instead of
hundred pesos, it was only seventy pesos, he again wrote a letter to ‘God’ and
requested him to send the rest of the money and doubted that the employees of the
post-office might have stolen and regarded them to be ‘crooks’.
